Itinerary

Tanzania can truly claim to be the home of the safari as “safari” is Swahili for “journey”. And there are few better places to enjoy an enriching cultural and wildlife experience than Tanzania.

The Premier Northern Circuit highlights two of the most scenic areas of northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, staying in top class accommodation throughout with transfers between camps by light aircraft.

Day 1 (Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge)
Upon arrival into Arusha (in the shadow of Mount Kilmanjaro) you will be met having cleared customs and immigration, then transferred by road to Arusha Coffee Lodge for a light late breakfast (account settled locally). Your scheduled 30 minute Coastal Air flight departs at 12:30 to Manyara. On arrival you will be met by a representative from CC Africa who will transfer you to the Ngorongoro Highlands and Ngrongoro Crater Lodge for a three night stay on Full Board.

Days 2-3 (Ngorongoro Crater)
Two full days to venture into the Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch, in search of the wide range of wildlife that calls the crater their home. The crater at almost 600 metres deep and measuring some 250 square kilometres is one of the most amazing sights in the whole of Africa.

Days 4 (Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti)
Transfer back to Manyara in time for your 45 minute Regional Air flight to the Serengeti departing at 0840. On arrival met by a CC Africa representative who will transfer you to Klein’s Camp for a three night stay on Full Board

Days 5-6 (Serengeti)
Two full days to explore the Serengeti (“endless plains”) with picnic lunches in the company of a CC Africa ranger.

The southern Serengeti is the starting point for the phenomenon that is the “migration” when, in March, the huge herds of zebra and wildebeest move north-west towards Kenya. The best time to see the migration at Klein’s Camp is from September to November.

Day 7 (Serengeti to Arusha)
Scheduled Regional Air transfer to Arusha departing at 0945 for your homeward flight or onwards to Zanzibar.

Suggested Extension

Day 7 (Mnemba Island)
Met on arrival into Zanzibar (circa 14:35) with a boat transfer to Mnemba Island for a three night stay on Full Board.

Mnemba Island Lodge, situated just a 20 minute traditional dhow cruise from the island of Zanzibar, is relaxation personified. Mnemba Island is just one mile in circumference, ringed with pristine Indian Ocean coral reefs, white soft sand beaches and fringed by a tropical forest.

Days 8-9
At leisure

Day 10
Transfer by boat to Zanzibar in time for your flight to Dar es Salaam and onwards.
